What’s new in Wave 1 2020 ?
There are some nice features in this release. Whether you’re a functional consultant or a development person, you’re sure to find something useful. Here are a few of my stand outs that I’m excited to see at this event.
- There are a number of migration extension enhancements to our old friend Dynamics GP.
- The client UI has received a needed performance tune-up and some ease of use data entry features.
- Users will be able to connect to a Common Data Service environment and bind a Business Central company with a Common Data Service business unit. This will allow for multiple companies to connect to a Common Data Service environment. This is good news for the Power Platform.
- Support people will be happy to hear that they are not forgotten. You should now be able to see database locks and table sizes as well as view and kill sessions. All in one handy place. My understanding is that this feature is complete in that it will cancel all supporting resources.
My favorite enhancement of this wave is that with the new Over Receipt Tolerance % on the new the Over Receipt Policy, I can trigger a reapproval to over receive a purchase order. For all the times that a modification had to be made in the past to bypass creating a new purchase order and getting it approved so that the warehouse folks can get on with their life! This enhancement makes me happy. I know. I’m a simple girl.
See you all soon and remember to wash your hands!
